Pregnancy is a wonderful time to give yourself the care and attention you deserve - and your baby will benefit too. Yoga (appropriately modified for pregnancy in a dedicated pregnancy yoga class) is the perfect practice for pregnant women (from weeks 16-42) because it helps on the mental and emotional levels as well as physical and energetic.
Their is great news for pregnant women! the Government has launched the health in pregnancy grant for all women over 25 weeks pregnant (£190 non means tested) mums and babies can get more of the care they need and deserve.
The postures support your body, helping you reduce aches and pains associated with pregnancy, and aid digestive, circulatory and respiratory systems (to name but a few benefits). The breathing practices and dedicated relaxation elements help you feel calmer, improve sleep and boost energy... and give you time to connect to your baby and to the life change ahead.
In the pregnancy yoga classes taught at The Yoga Home we also offer a labour preparation element in which you practice breathing techniques and movement suitable for labour and birth. We get to hear lots of birth stories and many women tell us what worked for them. So we include those practices in the classes. Many women tell us afterwards that these techniques have been really useful.
- Relax, revitalise and connect to baby
- Support your changing body and emotions
- Learn powerful techniques to cope with Labour!
These and many many other benefits.
