This class is for any individuals who are looking for a very restorative class in which to go deeper. Students often comment on how relaxed, energised, uplifted and whole they feel after a class. The teaching is derived from the Satyananda yoga tradition and each class includes asana (postures), pranayama (breathing/energy techniques) and a meditation or deep relaxation practice (yoga nidra). The awareness of students is encouraged to go very deep, and as students progress the teachings encompass experience of the energy body and psychic anatomy. Students with a variety of needs and experience are welcome to contact us regarding this class and its' suitability for them. Some interest in exploring a meditative approach to yoga is a good starting place. As with all The Yoga Home classes the setting and physical expectations are relaxed. |

Morning of Yoga for Women
Next date is Saturday 15th June 2013, 10am - 1pm at the Iona School. Contact us for more details.
from 15 pounds
This one off morning of yoga is just for women, without the little ones. We enjoy the sanctuary of a whole morning in which to let go, reconnect to our inner life, thoughts and feelings, and ease our physical body too. The yoga practices are gentle with an emphasis on slowing down, calming, resting and recharging. Within the three hours there is also opportunity for more dynamic and strengthening practice too. The theme for the April morning is yoga for wisdom and intuition, exploring practices which deepen insight and self understanding.
Students are welcomed with a cup of tea, and then after a long yoga class we pause for a drink and flapjack, before returning to the mats for the deepest relaxation and meditation practices of the morning. It all finishes with an optional shared lunch for those who can stay a little longer. Students have commented that the calming and rejuvinating effects of the morning last a long time. Hannah understands how precious this time out (time in!) is for all women and really values this workshop.

Yogic cleansing practices workshop
Workshop organised twice yearly. Next date is a Saturday in October 2013 from 9am. Contact us for more details or to book
from 15 pounds
In this workshop you will be personally instructed in one or more of the traditional cleansing techniques. They are wonderful and simple practices which help to rid the body of toxins, and they are very energising. You do not need to have any experience except for full shankaprakshalana (see below). The practices are:NETI - salt water irrigation of the nasal passages. It is an excellent practice for managing colds, hay fever, sinus disorders, headaches, depression, anxiety and anger due to its calming influence on the brain. It is also very useful in PREGNANCY when many women find it more difficult to breathe through the nose due to hormonal changes that affect the mucous membranes. Price £15 + purchase of neti pot.
KUNJAL - Kunjal is a salt-water stomach wash, practised on a completely empty stomach. It is especially valuable for people who experience hyperacidity of the stomach, asthma or other respiratory difficulties; or migraine. It is also good for raising energy levels and therefore beneficial for anyone suffering with depression. Price £15.00 (includes Neti).
TTK – is a short salt water wash practiced on an empty stomach. Can help to prevent constipation & related digestive problems. Involves 3 standing practices only and can be practised more regularly than Laghoo, to help keep the bowel healthy and the body ‘light’. Price £15.00 (includes Neti)
LAGHOO - a short cleansing for the digestive system, particularly valuable for anyone whose digestive system is a bit sluggish. It involves drinking salt water and practicing 5 postures to assist the movement of water through the system. Followed by Kunjal and Neti, if appropriate. Price £22
FULL SHANKAPRAKSHALANA (Full Cleanse) You must have previously practised Laghoo and be prepared to adhere to a strict diet for 10 days after the practice. Price £32.00
